Do You Like Yourself ?: Sample Control
During the first half of 2015, the Alliance of Massachusetts YMCAs implemented two new program
elements aimed at reducing substance use and other risky behaviors in their clients. The following
positive outcomes, all linked to a reduced risk of substance abuse, have found to be associated with
both approaches. Youth who participated in both approaches concurrently realized the most benefits.
Approach One: YMCA Youth Program, a comprehensive program
