Some people say the government should not put money on the arts, such as
music, opera and paintings, but instead should spend more money on construction
of infrastructure. Discuss both views and give your own opinion.

Nowadays, there is a highly controversial issue relating to whether or not the

spending public fund on basic infrastructure will bring more positive effects, instead
of spending money on music and art facilities. In this essay, both sides of this
argument will be analyzed before a reasoned conclusion is reached.
First and foremost, music and art galleries play an important educational role in our
daily life, where having a great music and art facilities will not only able to broaden
our vision, but also able to enrich our knowledge towards music and art. Moreover,
as well as bringing more entertainments to our life, music and art also make our life
colorful and interesting, where without these important elements, human life will
become dull and monotonous. A case in point is London Art Galleries, a well known
world gallery, consists of many marvelous paintings which will bring visitors an
enjoyable view.
However, some people view that providing better infrastructure will bring much
more benefits to the public, than taking care of music and art galleries. It is due to
the fact that, a good infrastructure will bring great convenience and efficiency to the
business operators and investors; furthermore, it can generate much more
economic benefits for the governments, in terms of tax revenue and job
opportunities. Having been completed with various infrastructures, for instance,
Singapore has attracted a lot of multinational corporations to her country for
business.
In conclusion, I believe that both arguments have their merits. On balance,
however, I firmly believed that the effort of conservation music and arts' works
should be encouraged, as its benefits can clearly be seen. This is because without a
doubt, music and arts are necessary in order to alleviate the high pressure of our
life and bring a peaceful mind to this contemporary society.
