    A1 receptors cause vasoconstriction and increased heart contractility. They also cause contraction of sphincters and production of aqueous humor from the eye. A2 receptors generally inhibit the release of neurotransmitters and cause vasodilation. B1 receptors increase heart rate and contractility as well as activation of the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system. B2 receptors cause hypokalemia, relaxation of airways, uterus, and blood vessels, and increased blood glucose levels.
