Solution to Question 2:

3mw becomes 1W due to TWT with 30dB gain and 33% efficiency. At this stage the
CW transmission is 1W, which is not sufficient for practical application.
So with the help of PIN diode as modulators, we can convert CW transmission to
pulsed transmission.
We know that duty cycle = average power / peak power.
In this case average power is power transmitted in CW mode, which is 1W. Peak
power is power transmitted in pulsed mode, which is 1KW in this case.
Therefore, DC = 1/1000=0.001
Calculation of DC is sufficient for this problem.
PRF = 10KHz, Pulse width is =100nsec.
Solution to Question 4:
At 10GHz the period of each cycle is 10-10sec, with the given mode the transit time
is 275psec.
If repeller voltage decreased, if the transit time becomes 280 psec then the
frequency will be 9.83GHz.
