InTheSquiggleactivitytheteacherinstructsstudentstodrawonecontinuoussquiggleona
pieceofpaperthatsomehowrepresentshimorherself.Thelinecangoinanydirection,beof
anycolor,andbeanylength.Thestudenttheneitherexplainsinwritingororallythe
representationofthesquiggle.Thismaybeanabstractorconcreterepresentationdepending
onthechild.
1. Handoutblankpapertoallstudents.
2. Havestudentsclosetheireyesandimagineapictureofthemself.
3. Tellstudentsthatwhenyousaygotheyhavetotakethatpictureandturnitintoone
continuouslineonthepaperinfrontofthem.
4. Letthemknowthelinecanbeaslongasitneedstobeandanycolortheywantbutthey
mayonlymakeonelinetorepresentthem.
5. Tellthestudentstogoaheadanddrawtheirsquiggleline.
6. Oncestudentsarefinished,havethemstandupandpairupwithaneighborandexplain
howtheirsquigglerepresentsthem.
