Therearemanyformsofswimminginsuieijutsu.One
iscallednukite[],whichsimplymeansstrokes
andsimilartoregularwesternfreestyle,withthe
exceptionthatyouswimwithhisheadabovewaterin
ordertokeepwatchonallsidesandto
navigate.Moreover,thewarriorcouldgatherhisthings
aroundthebar(togetittofloat)andswimwiththem
attachedtothehead.Sometimes,youcouldevenswim
withitemsbackandwasthereforeforcedtoswim
uprightinthisway.
Noshi[]meansstretchandusedtoswimagainst
thecurrent.Whenoneappliesnoshi,swimsto
sidewaystocreateaslittlesurfaceareaandresistance
inthewater,whiletakingarmstrokeandkickoffwith
thelegs.
Importantforallstrokeswasnottotakethemselves
outofthewater,itwouldfeelasifitrestedonthe
waterandmovedsafelytoshore.Onceinthecountry,
itwasimportantofcoursetobeabletofightand
thereforeitwasimportanttobeready.

wasincludedinsuieijutsu.Itisusedwhenswimmingin
shallowwater,orperhapsevenintheswamp.By
kickingwithbothshinsagainstthesurfaceofthewater
youcangoaheadsmoothlyevenifit'sonlyafoot
deep.Thismethodcanalsobeusedifyoufeelthatthe
seizureisimminent,asitisrelaxing.Worksgreateven

yourdirectionfromyouraimingpoint.Samethingwith
flowingwaterthatalsocancorrectyourcourse.The
morewind,thehigherwavesandmoreimportantwith
highArmlift.Duringforwardmovementarmshouldbe
raisedsohighthatyouaregettingtheshaftfromthe
watersothatitdoesnotslowdownyourspeed
