ABSTRACT

Topic: Electrical Design & Wiring for a residential tower of 30 storeys with 7
apartments in each floor. (Ground + 4 Parking + 25 residential)

Power Factor: 0.9

The main aims for the project are to

- calculate the complete electrical load as per standard specifications of a
residential tower in the UAE
- size the required transformers
- cutting power loss and maintaining the mentioned power factor
- calculate diversity factor, demand factor, coincidence factor etc
- positioning of the LV rooms, MDB, SMDBs and FDBs.
- cable sizing with the use of a known software application
- a generator or UPS system for the elevators and other necessary entities in
case of power loss

Further tasks include

- low-current systems such as security measures and firefighting systems.
