Thinking Back

I see flashes of pink

Everywhere
And dusty memories wiped clean

Days and Days and Days That Went

Before

And childhood rising again

Sunlight hazy days
and some kind of sickness
releasing the bones of small birds

The Childs Declaration

in the rain of the skin

the sky has never been so grey

I am the united states of simplicity

the mountains have never been so far away

Without a doubt

and I have never been

We deposed the monarchy

have never been

Detached their heads

sunlight hazy days and confusion

And replaced it with gods

sore lights and half-finished sounds

that we found underneath our beds

amongst the heated streets

of a city
in a mind
and I walk unafraid
I know this city
I know its sunlight hazy days
and this kind of sickness
written on the tarmac
and hidden behind the storefronts
some kind of something
some kind of loss
in the small streets of a heated city
and sunlight hazy days
