Workload Points/Minutes Guideline for Use

1point = 15 minutes
Point allocation includes assessment/intervention/documentation and travel
This is only a guide to point allocation.
STAFFING
Clients seen in the clinic or in clustered care areas are assigned 1 point or 15
minutes less per visit as travel time is not required
Travel points are only added for extraordinary travel distances
Office/Charge RN on weekends and STATs are assigned 14 points sat/sun
Evening RN - assigned 2 travel pts
CLINICAL
ADMISSION GUIDE:
Simple - 9 Points (135 min)
Moderate - 10 points (150 min) e.g. IVT,
Complex - 12 points (180 min) e.g. DOT
New Client phone call- 2 Points (30 min)
DISCHARGES from Hospital
Review -6 points (90 min)
PHONE CALLS
Client phone call- 1 Point (15min)
Discharge client file with phone call- 2 points
( 30 min)
WOUND CARE:
Weekly Full Assessment F/A or Complete
Assessment C/R - 5 Points (75 min)
Partial Assessment - 4 Points (60 min)
Wraps - 5 Points (6 pts if reassessment)= 7590min
3 points for assistance (45 min)
ABI - 7 Points (105min)-primary nurse
3 point for assist (45 min)
Please schedule in the clinic whenever possible.

HOME SUPPORT/DOT
INITIATION -6 points (90 min)
REVIEW- 2 points (30 min)
DAILY WORKLOAD:
RN/LPN: 7.8 hour shift = 23 pts
Evening RN: 7.8 hour shift = 23 pts
(includes 2 travel points)
Weekend RN/LPN = 24 pts

** Note: All assignment changes MUST be

called in to the Nursing Clerk or Office RN
by 1330 for the next day!
