Learning Objectives:
Warm-up (5 minutes)
Ask the class if they can see a difference in the meaning of must in these sentences.
Distribute the Modal Verbs Worksheet and ask the class to complete Exercise 1 in
pairs. Then check the answers as a whole class. Answer any questions the students
have about the grammar. You may wish to distribute the Modal Verbs Answer Key.

presentations. Ask them to complete Exercise 2 on the Modal Verbs Worksheet.
