2015-2016 Letter of Understanding
The Dr. Ruth Mershon Scholarship Program seeks to assist students in
pursuit of their academic goals. This renewable scholarship program provides
funding up to $8,000.00 per academic year (disbursed in semester amounts) for
a maximum of four years undergraduate study.
This Letter of Understanding is between the Oklahoma City Community
Foundation and
_________________________________________, who has been selected to participate
in the Dr. Ruth Mershon Scholarship Program.
The purpose of this Letter of Understanding is to confirm the requirements and
restrictions that must be met to be eligible for the Dr. Ruth Mershon Scholarship
Program funds.
A. The student must be enrolled as a full-time student at an accredited regional
or comprehensive university.
1. Concurrent enrollment at a community college is not accepted
2. Distance courses may not be included in the full time enrollment
requirement
B. The student must reside in institutional housing.
C. The student must maintain both a current and cumulative grade point
average of 3.0 or greater with no grade less than a 2.0 on a 4.0 scale, as
documented by submitting of an official transcript at the conclusion of each
enrollment period.
D. Breaks in enrollment status are only allowed for major health impairment.
E. Student must agree to relinquish any scholarship benefit from the
previously awarded program.
The Oklahoma City Community Foundation will provide information about the
scholarship and reminders about compliance with the requirements.
