End Ball
Lesson link: End ball
links activities requiring
defending and braking
skills which is key when
playing netball
AIM:
One player starts in
the centre third of the
court with the ball,
and passes the ball to
team mates in each
zone. The objective is
to get the ball to each
player on the court without any drops of intercepts.

-
2 pairs to a third
Players can pass in one direction e.g. clockwise
Use shoulder pass + chest pass + lobs (no
bounce passes)
If ball is drop the ball must go back to the start
we the game resets
You cannot pass the ball over a third, attacking
player must touch the ball before reaching the
end/must pass through each third
No running with the ball
After a few rounds swap the attaching to
defending and defending to attacking
AIM:
Runners run in parallel down opposite sides of the
court passing the ball to each other. Interceptors try to
intercept the ball but are restricted in their
movements. Interceptors can only run up and down
their designated line (as shown). 6 players in each
group, 2 interceptors + 4 runners (2 each side). Dont
forget to swap players around so they all get a fair
share at different positions.
-
Runners (attackers)
- Runners catch and pass the ball
- Then they run as they try to get to the other end
of the court (area marked out with cones)
- Runners then jog around the outside of court
back to the start start the second pair of
runners as the first pair approaches the end of
the court

-
Interceptors (defenders)
- Try to intercept the ball
not contact or tagging
- Can only move
sideways along their
line as shown

nearest runner after
intercepting
- One point if they
intercept a ball
Praising players:
AIM:
Players mime specific sporting scenarios (e.g. running,
passing, catching, stepping, defending and attacking)
in slow motion.
5 minutes 1 x netballs
Players
Rules + instructions:
- Make a TV square with your hands, as if youre
asking for the video ref to review the play and
describe the scene (e.g. player brakes free from
defender to receives the pass but the pass falls
short and the defender swops in and retrieves
the ball and scores a goal).
- Players then mime the scene in slow motion
- Draw on any activity that has been played in the
session
Give positive feedback and encouragement for the
