The Bears Growl!


What makes the bear growl?
Materials:
Cardstock
String
Paperclip
Paper cup
Directions: Print the bear head on cardstock. Cut out.
Poke a hole in the bottom of a cup. Thread the string
through and tie it off with a paperclip. Hold the string in
your hand and drag your thumbnail down the length of the
string. Your bear just growled!
What made that noise?

Vibrations!

When you dragged your thumb down the


string, it made the string vibrate! That is
what produced the sound!

What happens when you put your


hand in the cup?
How is the bears growl like a guitar?
