Burden of Choice

By Szabo Eduard Dragomir

The light ever so pliable grows frail

As the dawn of a new night shines its trail
Upon the oily canvas begotten
By cruel demons of yore forgotten.

I stare aghast into the all-seeing,

The lurking red serpent eye thats grinning
From its halos, a sun gods tears dropping
Into countless dying shards reversing.

Hecate, your criminal dance bewitches!

My foul mind is consumed by the leeches
Of stunning churns that arouse the abyss
And its innermost demons waking hiss.

The challenge of choice is omnipresent,

A painful burden lost souls resent.
Like silenced lambs my demons hastily flee
And from emptiness this road sets me free.

Dance with me, Hecate, into the abyss!

Hold my head abreast lest I trail amiss!
Hand me thy torches, let me shine the light
On the road where I exhibit my might!
