Daily Writing #6:
The character that I could relate to the most in The Secret Life of the Bees
would have been Zach. The reason why I can connect with him was because he was
determined to do great things. Zach wanted to become a lawyer and during that time it
had never been done because of his race and place in the world. In my situation, going to
college and going into the medical field is something that isnt done much in my society
by African American females. It is something that not a lot of people choose to do
because of the level of difficulty. Zach and I are alike because regardless of our situation,
we still do whatever we can to accomplish our goals and our goals arent limited to
societys standards.
