Imagine that you dont have a house, job, money, proper clothing, and food and drinks are also
hard to come by. Further imagine that, you see people with food and drinks in their hands,
wearing proper clothing, walk past you. How would you feel? Homelessness has become a
problem in New York City. In 2014, New York citys homeless population rate climbed up to
67,810. Currently there are 3,697 homeless shelters and social services. People who are
homeless are often unable to acquire and maintain safety and security.
Homeless people in the New York city depend on the public districts to maintenance their life.
Also, the causes for the homelessness include unemployment, insufficient housing payment, and
mental or physical patiences. In addition, the events that are forcibly put the people into
homelessness, which includes eviction, withdrawn familial support, and loss of income. As a
result, they have no choice but wondering around the streets, and is hard for many of us to see
homeless people with the helpless and hopeless expression. Therefore, we should start helping
them by donating money, donating items, provide food, create more jobs for them, and free
health services.
The purpose of this letter is to help those homeless people in every districts in New York city.
There should be more homeless shelters for those in need. Homeless people are humans just like
the rest of us and people shouldnt ignore them, but sympathize to homeless people. Within the
right foundation, charities, helps and supports, homelessness will be overcome and homeless
peoples life will be change.
