DEBATING SOCIETY

Objective: To foster in students the confidence to debate and

speak publicly. The society will also serve as a platform for
already established speakers to hone their skills.
Structure: Since it is group of individuals with similar interests,
no formal head or coordinators are required, though someone
from Literati will be required to coordinate the debating sessions.
In advanced stages of practice, the sessions can be mentored by
faculty.
Nature: It has to be closed group of students and efforts have to
be made to involve the first year and second year as much as
possible. The students that shine out in various competitions
organized around the year have to be encouraged to join the
society.
Functioning:
Regular meet-ups for both Hindi and English
debating has to be organized, possibly on weekends or as per
suitably. The first few practices will be overlooked by students and
later on, faculty can be involved. The best speakers will be
encouraged to take part in state and national level debate and
discussions. The speakers at the end of year can be awarded.
Budget and Infrastructure Requirements: A rooms has to be
made available for regular practice. Nominal financial
requirements, that varies according to completions and size of the
society.
