y , THE I’piscopal CHURCH July 15, 2015 The Rt Rev'd J. Jon Bruno e Bishop, Diocese of Los Angeles >) vy PO Box 512164 Los Angeles, CA 90051 Dear Bishop Bruno, In my capacity as the Intake Officer for allegations regarding Bishops under the Church’s disciplinary canons, I am obliged to inform you that I have received information concerning alleged canonical violations by you from William F. Kroener, III and numerous members of the congregation of St James the Great Church, clergy and lay leaders of the Diocese of Los Angeles. The alleged canonical violations are: * IV. 4.Sec. 1(h)(6) - “ conduct involving dishonesty, fraud, deceit or misrepresentation;” * IV. 4, Sec. 1(h)(8) — “any Conduct Unbecoming a Member of the Clergy.” * IV.4. Sec. 1(g) — failure to “exercise ... ministry in accordance with applicable provisions of the Constitution and Canons of the Church,” specifically, Canon II. 6. 3 ~“consent to deconsecrate Churches.” Over the next few weeks I will conduct phone interviews with you and the complainant(s) and others as necessary to determine whether the allegations that have been made, if they turn out to be true, would constitute an Offense under the canons (IV.6. sec. 3 & 4 of the Constitution and Canons of this Church). Please do not make contact with the complainant(s) or the complainant's(s’) legal counsel during this proceeding. If after speaking with the Presiding Bishop and my counsel, it is determined the allegations, if taken as true, would constitute an Offense, the matter will be sent to the Reference Panel. If it is determined that the allegations, even if true, would not constitute an Offense, the matter will be Dismissed, and the Complainants will have 30 days to Appeal the Dismissal to the President of the Disciplinary Board who will decide to affirm or overturn the Dismissal. I will seek to Keep all parties informed as to the progress of the work being done. + The Rt Rev'd J.
