Allen Schreiber

Professional Background

J. Allen Schreiber is a nationally recognized attorney at law, mediator and arbitrator. He joined Burke Harvey in
2011 and believes in making the world a better place by working to keep the legal system fair and just. Schreiber
has been continually recognized by U.S. News and World Report as Best Lawyers and by Super Lawyers.
Mr. Schreiber graduated from Vanderbilt University with a Bachelor of Arts in 1981 and from The Cumberland
School of Law at Samford University in 1984. He is currently licensed in both Alabama and Virginia.
In 1988, Schreiber was founding partner of Lloyd, Schreiber & Gray and served as its managing partner for 12
years. In 2000, Mr. Schreiber partnered with Mark Petro and started a plaintiff s practice, Schreiber & Petro.
Their firm obtained a Top 5 U.S. Verdict in 2006. Schreiber & Petro successfully prosecuted general tort claims
and wage and hour cases for more than 10 years.
His professional memberships include: The Alabama Bar Association, the Alabama Academy of Attorney
Mediators, (charter member) Virginia Trial Lawyers Association; Virginia State Bar, the Birmingham Bar
Association, the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, the National Academy of Distinguished Neutrals
(charter member) of the American College of Civil Trial Mediators.
Since Mr. Schreiber has over 30 years of experience as both a plaintiff and defense lawyer, this gives him a unique
perspective to resolve and handle cases on behalf of others. He maintains an AV rating (20 years) by
Martindale-Hubbell and serves on the Arbitration panel of the American Arbitration Association for consumer
disputes.
Mr. Schreiber is a married to Stella and has three children: Scott, William and Emily. He is a Member of
Episcopal Church of the Advent and past president of CF Foundation and Laps for Cystic Fibrosis.
