Graffiti Painting-Using a paint program to add to and alter elements of a photograph. Writing a
fictional story to complement the result.
I used paint to isolate the face from a photograph of my instructor. This project focused primarily
on creativity. It also provided an opportunity to explore the functions of the paint program. Most
of the drawing is comprised of line and brush coloring. The accompanying story further
enhanced the creative process and developed writing skills.
National Educational Technology Standards for Teachers (NETS) T AddressedStandard #1/Creativity and Innovation-Students demonstrate creative thinking, construct
knowledge, and develop innovative processes and products using technology.
Application of Skills Learned for the FutureThis assignment was fun. As soon as I put the hat on my character, my story began to form in my
mind. I can certainly see the potential for this project to capture the attention of students. The
creative potential is incredible. The assignment could be altered to have the students use their
own photos and paint scene of themselves in their future career.
