Analysis of CSR Initiatives:

In order to improve the effectives of the CSR initiatives measurement of the impact
of these initiatives is essential. We are using a framework which measures it based
on
four
parameters:

We had gone through a research paper by CSRwire which had analyzed the impact
of the CSR initiatives of 74 firms and based on this research we have found some
interesting insights:
Among the 74 corporates only 10 are complying with these norms and have a
CSR spending of more than 2% of PAT
Average spending on the CSR activities was found to be 1.04% for these
organizations
Companies score better on governance as compared to the other three
parameters
Companies have not laid enough focus on some of the neglected classes of
the society which are defined in the Companies Act 2013
The CSR expenditure by firms is governed by the industry to which they
belong and the problems which it causes to its stakeholders
A strong positive correlation was observed between PAT and CSR spends
Organizations are now shifting from their outlook towards CSR from a mere
compliance to a more strategic perspective
TATA Steel is the top performer across all industries, SAIL leads in the PSUs
and Infosys leads in the services. It was observed that companies with a more
diversified portfolio performed better
