Present Simple

Use :
We use the present simple to talk about habits or routines.
She drinks four cups of coffee a day
We go to the gym on Mondays and Wednesdays.
General truths:
Form: Affirmative
We write the verb in the infinive form but when the subject is the 3er person singular
(he, she, it) we add s or es to the verb.
We go to the gym twice a week.
Sara goes to school from Monday to Friday
Negative
We use the auxiliary form doesnt with the 3er person singular and the form dont with
the rest of persons.
Tom doesnt study maths everyday
They dont play computer games after school
Interrogative
We use the auxiliary form Does at the beginning of the question with the 3er person
singular and the form Do with the rest of subjects.
Does your mother cook dinner every night?
Do your friends go to school by bus?
When we use the auxiliary forms dont, doesnt, Do, Does the main verb remains in
the infinitive form.
3er person s:
-s, -ss, -sh, -ch, -x, -o = -es wash watch
Consonant + y = -ies study fly
