Wilson Mizner says If you steal from one author its plagiarism; if you steal from many
its research
This quote speaks to me in several ways. For one, its sarcastic nature is intriguing, and
the biting humor used by Mizner reveals a lot about his character. It tells me that he believes the
idea of plagiarism is a contradictory one, and he doesnt see it as something to be taken seriously.
He doesnt necessarily agree with the idea of research because he believes that it is simply
beefed up plagiarism. The simple and sarcastic way he describes the idea of research amuses
me, and that is why this quote specifically appealed to me.
