    Pine City University saw an increase in minority student enrollment for the fall 2015 semester, with the total minority population growing by 8.7% to 1,899 students. The largest increases were seen in American Indian student enrollment, which increased by 46 students, followed by Asian student enrollment which increased by 44 students. University President Judy Bonner and Chancellor Robert Witt expressed pleasure with the progress made towards increasing diversity but note that more work still needs to be done to continue building upon these gains.

    Theuniversityreleasedfiguresforeachenrollmentcategorybasedonselfreportedstudentdata.
    Surveyshowedtheenrollmentofblackstudentsincreasedby34.AmericanIndianstudentenrollment
    showedthelargestincreaseof46studentsfollowedbyAsianstudentenrollmentwhichincreasedby44.
    Hispanicstudentenrollmentgrewby28.
    Thisuniversityhastakenasignificantstepforward,saidPresidentJudyBonner.Oureffortsof
    recentyearsarebeginningtoproducethedesiredresults.
    Students,facultyandadministratorswhohavebeenworkingforthisincreaseinminoritystudents
    arepleasedwiththeirefforts,chancellorRobertWittsaid.
    Westillhavemoretodo.Thisisonlythebeginning,saidWitt.Statisticsshowminoritystudent
    enrollmentfiveyearsagowas1,540.
