As both a football coach at Tecumseh High School as well as the Director of the Tecumseh Virtual ‘Academy, | have come to know Mr. Hession well. | have worked with him on a collegial level as we both were embers of the varsity football coaching staff. | have also supervised Mr. Hession as he taught summer school through our virtual academy. Matt is a dedicated, hardworking individual who understands the importance of building relationships with students and colleagues. He will be an excellent addition to your teaching staff. have known Matt Hession for five years. Matt was hired to join our varsity football staff as an offensive line coach, Matt is an excellent young football coach that brings an intense desire to do things the right way. He sets high expectations for his players and pushes them to achieve those expectations. Once Mr. Hession completed his ‘student teaching, he was hired as a one on one aid for an at risk student. | was pleased to see that Matt carried the ‘same virtues, which he brought to the athletic field, with him to the classroom. Mr. Hession developed a positive relationship with his student and set high expectations for him. Matt provided encouragement, support and ‘accountability for a very at-risk student. During this student's IEP meeting, Mr. Hession carried himself with professionalism. It was obvious that Matt had made a connection with the student and followed through with regular ‘communication to the student's family. This summer | was fortunate to be able to hire Mr. Hession to teach summer school through our virtual academy. ‘Our summer program provides credit recovery for students who have fallen behind in their graduation requirements. Matt was eager to learn about online education. He has a natural ability to mentor students while facilitating leaming through an online medium. Mr. Hession very quickly developed a relationship with the students and they responded very well to him. Matt did an excellent job of communicating student progress to parents. Ifwe had a position available in the virtual academy, | would hire Matt Hession in an instant! | sincerely recommend Matthew Hession for a teaching position in your district. | am fully confident that Mr. Hession will become an invaluable member of your staff.
