San Diego, CA 92103-8929 June 18, 2015 Dear Judy Fernandez, I am pleased to write a letter of reference Nicole Chan, a fourth semester student nurse at Azusa Pacific University. As the faculty of record for the Pharmacology and Advanced Medical Surgical nursing courses, I have had the opportunity to interact with Nicole several times during her second and fourth semesters, as well as in and out of the classroom setting. Unlike other nursing courses, my classes focus more on medication safety and advocacy for patients, and looking at the patient as a whole, current diagnosis, and constant observation of their medical status. Nicole has been able to develop and utilize a plethora of skills with the patients and families, regardless of their diagnosis and condition. She was always kind and sensitive in her interactions. I found Nicole to be hard working and willing to learn, while optimizing her time in the class in order to develop new knowledge and skills. She has been committed to excelling in both her didactic and clinical courses. Nicole is known to me for her dedication; follow through, calm and composed under pressure, exceptional attention to detail, and strong foundation of content knowledge. I think Nicole will be an excellent employee who will put patients first, and work well with her colleagues. Sincerely,
Caroline Gerber, Ph.D., RN
