Annual Fundraising Events

Every year, the board plans a fundraising campaign. The past years campaign was called Change the
Picture. By integrating support from community members, the goal is to raise $300,000. This is an
ongoing effort. One of the main goals of this campaign is to recruit 100 Patron Circle Members,
people who donate $1,000 a year.

Dine Out for Kids:

Dine Out For Kids provides an opportunity for restaurateurs and sponsors to support at-risk students
in Athens community by donating a portion of the profits from breakfast, lunch and/or dinner to CIS in
August. Proceeds from the event will allow CIS to continue to provide after-school, youth leadership,
literacy, parent education and other pertinent programs in communities served. Dine Out For Kids is an
initiative that was developed by CIS of Charlotte in North Carolina. DOFK is a fundraiser that provides
needed support to local and state CIS offices so they can continue their work of helping kids succeed in
school and prepare for life.
Planning for DOFK starts during the spring semester. More information on planning can be found in
the DOFK binder.

Amplify Athens:
Amplify Athens is a concert-series that benefits FC-CIS and is hosted by Poverty is Real. Previously,
our involvement in planning was limited, but in order to expand funding from this event further
collaboration with us is needed. An area of possible expansion is in corporate sponsorships. Spencer
Smith is the head contact for this series. Talk with Tim about ways interns can be further involved in
the planning process. See the Amplify Athens binder for more information on past concert-series.
