Students will say good bye to host families and depart for Vancouver sightseeing.
Students will board the coach and enjoy sightseeing in Vancouver. Students will visit Granville
Island, Stanley Park and Gastown.
Stanley Park is recognized around the globe as one of the great parks of the world! Vancouver's
first park and one of the city's main tourist attractions, Stanley Park is an evergreen oasis of 400
hectares (1,000 acres) close to the downtown core. Its natural west coast atmosphere offering a
back drop of majestic cedar, hemlock and fir trees embraces visitors and transports them to an
environment rich in tranquility. The park abounds in wildlife and its features appeal to the
naturalist, the plant lover or one who would do nothing more than relax in beautiful surroundings.
A seawall walkway meanders along the park's perimeter, with beautiful views of the city skyline,
the harbour, beaches, and the spectacular North Shore Mountains.
Established the same year that Canada became a nation, Gastown grew into Canadas third
largest city and one of its most cosmopolitan. But the Gastown district today retains its historic
charm, independent spirit and distinctiveness. Theres no mistaking Gastown for any other area
of Vancouver, or of Canada for that matter. Historic Gastown, a tangle of cobble-stoned.
Granville Island was once an industrial wasteland is a thriving hub for Vancouverites and
visitors alike. You'll find artists' studios, galleries, theatres, nightclubs, restaurants, and Granville
Island Brewing. In summer, wandering buskers and street performers delight the crowds. Stop by
the Granville Island Public Market for freshly picked produce, seafood straight off the boats,
gourmet foods, and tasty delights from the bakeries. Students will have lunch at Granville Island.
