SEEKING PERMISSION FOR CONDUCTING RESIDENTIAL WORKSOP IN JAFFNA

Department of Science, NIE, in collaboration with the Department of Education, Northern province, has
planned to conduct four days residential workshops, at Jaffna, for GCE Advanced Level Question Bank
Development in Physics, Chemistry and Biology, funded by the AUS-AID programme. This could help to
include innovative ideologies of various ethnic groups of the nation.
Workshops for Chemistry, Physics and Biology are planned to go parallel on 20th 21st 22nd 23 rd and 24th
December, 2014. Director of Education, Northern Province, had agreed to organize the resource panel,
meals and accommodation. Since these workshops are to be held once and looking forward to complete
many tasks, it is essential to have these in three sessions. NIE is expected to co-ordinate and assist the
above financially. Aus-aid workshops are initially budgeted only for giving lunch and two teas.
Department of Finance, NIE, had stopped giving advances from 15 th December, 2014.
Since all the aforesaid workshops to be held as residential in three sessions, and people from all over
northern province are participating it is essential to provide accommodation, dinner, morning tea and
breakfast, in addition to the budgeted meal allocation. There are sufficient funds available for the above
project.
Hence, please kindly grant us special permission to conduct the above workshop along with complete
meals, refreshments and accommodation, as mentioned above. It would also be great if the resource
people are paid by cash.
