EDUC 6330 Reflection

The process of completing the digital portfolio is to research the different models. I had
to research each model and understand what each model does, and the reason the model was
created. During this process, I had to understand what type of students I would be working with
and understand the students learning style. Once I receive my research I based the lesson plans
on the different types of model, such as the social family models and the behavioral model.
This process benefit me as a teacher by helping me to be flexible in my teaching. There
are students that learn different, and may not understand the lesson the teacher is explaining to
them for the first time. Learning the different models such as the picture model will help the
student to read and write, and direct instruction model helps the student to have a better
understanding of the subject, and the assignment. This also help me to understand the different
types of instructional models that is used to help student to learn the information.
The digital portfolio will help me in my teaching career. This will allow the principal
and/or the assistant principal to see ten different lesson plans that I can use in the classroom. This
will allow me to be a flexible teacher, and have an understanding of students with different
learning styles. The direct instruction model will help students to understand their assignment
and to complete a math problem with the guidance of the teacher. The advance organizer model
will give the students an understanding to complete an organizer to prepare a paragraph for an
essay.
I would use a new model in the classroom if my student are not successful in solving a
math problem or the students does not pass the end of a unit assessment. This will allow me to
use another model to reteach the lesson, and observe to see if the students has learn and mastered

the lesson unit. I would use the picture model to help my students with their reading and writing,
because there are students that are having problem with their reading and writing.
I would present the new models during planning time with my colleagues. I would
explain to my colleagues how well the advance organizer would help the students with forming
notes to write paragraphs for their essay. I would provide my colleagues the different instructive
models, to use in their lesson plans.
