Goals and Objectives


For
-Draper City TrailsGoal #1 - Gain an understanding of the planning processes involved in development of a
functional recreational trail system. (Scouting, design, layout, construction, and maintenance)
Measurable Objective #1 Attended at least 4 Draper City Parks and Trails committee
meetings by the end of season to understand the politics behind the planning process of a
preliminary trail.
Measurable Objective #2 Assist supervisor in the process of mapping and flagging one
new trail system.
Goal #2 - Work with a crew in designing and constructing actual trails using specific tools and
equipment.
Measurable Objective #1 Once a day use any given designated tools on job sites such as
Pulaskis, McLeods, compacter, Canycom, rakes, and saws.
Measurable Objective #2 - Operation of heavy machinery at least once during the
summer like the skid steer, Sweco, and mini excavator.
Goal #3 - Learn how to build trail features such as switchbacks, climbing turns, berms, culverts,
armoring, bridges and retaining walls.
Measurable Objective #1 - Start and finish the Rush trail reroute by creating these
features
Measurable Objective #2 Hike/bike every existing trails in draper city to evaluate each
specific trail feature and perform maintenance as needed.
