Literacy Volunteers of Quebec (LVQ)

Job Posting

Literacy Volunteers of Quebec (LVQ), the voice of volunteer-based

community literacy for English-speaking adult Quebecers, is looking for an
individual to carry out a project on measuring non-academic progress in adult
literacy learners.

Traditionally, educational progress and success has been measured using

standardized, objective tests. LVQ members do not currently have a tool with

1) Carry-out a literature review of current documentation and tools on
measuring non-academic progress in adult literacy students;
2) Select and pilot existing evaluation tools in LVQ member groups;
3) Modify the tools if necessary based on findings;
4) Train, or organize a training session for, LVQ member groups in how to
use the selected evaluation tools.
5) Work under the supervision of the Project Manager (LVQ Executive
Director).

Interested candidates should:

• Be familiar with LVQ’s mission and activities;
• Previous experience in the adult education and/or literacy
field is an asset, but not necessary;
• Previous experience and/or familiarity as a researcher or
using evaluation tools is an asset;
• Be independent, dynamic and able to work with minimal
supervision;
• Be able to work from a home office;
• Be familiar with MS Word and Excel.
