Objective
To obtain a position as a Clinical Care Leader on the Hematology
Oncology Unit/8B at the Childrens Hospital of The Kings Daughters

Experience

Registered Nurse
Provide Nursing care to the Hematology/Oncology/Medical-Surgical
patient with ages that span from neonate to adult. Responsibility of role
on unit ranges from bedside RN, to Preceptor or Charge Nurse.

Bedside nurse responsible for the care and administration of

medication for patients with hematological and oncology
disorders along with general pediatric populations. Educate
newly diagnosed oncology patients families concerning
diagnosis, treatment, and side effects prior to discharge. Provide
safe and competent quality of care to all patients.

Charge Nurse- coordinates patient flow from out patient to

inpatient through collaboration and communication with other
departments and the nursing supervisor. Oversees the units
patients while acting as a resource to staff and collaborating
with the leadership and multidisciplinary team. Support and
champion of the leadership team.

Preceptor- coach, mentor and teach visiting nursing students,

externs, and role transition students along with new hires to 8B.
Participates in orientation of new staff in education of policies
and procedures along with central line care.
