Summary

In Los Angeles, 1976, Franklin Shepard has just premiered his latest
film, and everyone is singing his praises In New York, 1957, he was
sitting in his 110th street apartment with his friends Charley and Mary,
dreaming about the future. Its Our Time, he says, as the first
satellite flies across the sky. As Merrily We Roll Along rolls backwards
across these twenty years, we see Franklins progression from
penniless composer to wealthy producer. We also see what he lost to
get there in a beautiful exploration of what it means to be truly rich.
