1. What is gestalt?
=>a branch of psychology that treats behavior and perception as an
integrated whole and not simply the sum of individual stimuli and
responses.
2. Give one example gestalt.
=>the case of a list in which all the items are printed in black ink except
for one which is printed in red.
3. In not more than 20 words, explain the psychoanalytic theory.
=>Psychoanalytic theories are the stage of development, psychosocial
or psychosexual. The inter play of instinctual, biological and social
determinants.
4. How did Sigmund Freud explain homosexuality in his psychosexual
stage of development?
=>Freud came up with five stages of psychosexual development
namely: oral, anal, phallic, latency, and genital stage. He believes that
every child goes through a sequence of developmental stages in that the
childs experiences during these stages determine adult personality
characteristics. He further emphasized that adult personality is form by
the end of the fifth year of life.
