My ESL portfolio consists of nine items, including this introduction.

After the
introduction, you will see my reflection on second language acquisition. This reflection
goes into detail on my experiences learning a second language. Next, you will see two
oral development strategies, along with, two literacy development strategies. These
strategies are closely aligned with specific ELPS and consist of a description and
rationale for each. Next, you will find my Internet resource webliography, which consists
of 16 different Internet resources for ESL teachers and students. The resources are
divided into three categories of academic instruction, technology and apps, and
professional development. Following the webliography are two sheltered lesson plans for
ELLs based on the SIOP model. After the lesson plans, you will find my conclusion and
self-assessment that reviews the key components that I have learned in the class, and my
personal assessment of how well I know course content. Last, you will find references for
the entire portfolio.
This portfolio will demonstrate my knowledge and skills for supporting ELLs by
covering all the vital elements necessary for teachers and students to be successful. Some
of the areas represented in my portoflio are language acquisition theories and how they
apply to my past learning and future teaching, strategies to implement with ELLs to
scaffold their learning, and sheltered lesson plans that are ready to implement at any time.
I hope you enjoy it!
