To Whom It Concerns, You are looking for a dedicated intern with great organizational skills and a highly motivated work ethic. My education and work experience makes me an ideal candidate for this position. My high school and college background have prepared me with the skills needed to be successful in the field of industrial/manufacturing engineering. In high school I was able to work with the program called AutoCAD where I made 3D objects such as boxes, houses, miniature cars, and a shelf. Along with this I learned to use excel in other classes for datasheets, tables, graphs, and procedures. The college classes that I have taken so far have given me the knowledge of creating presentations, the use of different characteristics in materials that can be reacted together to enhance the overall effects of a material, and the basic engineering skills such as how creep works, tensile stress, cold work, and density play important roles in material effectiveness. My experience of working in a factory has allowed me to learn quickly by completing the tasks at hand, assisting others, and meeting deadlines. I have gained the experience of being able to work with heavy machinery such as break presses, shears, and grinders. Gaining the skills of building cabinets, using a rivet gun, reading and creating materials from schematics, measuring and accessing material lengths and thicknesses, and obtaining a wave machine license. I have experience in working alone with no supervision as well as working in small groups. Along with this working experience I have gained great knowledge of teamwork, time management, and self-responsibilities due to competing as a Wayne State Womens Track and Field athlete. Here we are required to get work done under stressful situations and time restraints. I hope to be getting a call from you at the number located at the top of this page to discuss my credentials more. I look forward to speaking with you soon. Sincerely, Elizabeth Herriman
