Skeletal
Muscles
Muscles that produce the
movements of the skeletons,
they are sometimes called
voluntary muscles.

Skeletal Muscles Attachments:

Origin attachments that moves


the least

Insertion attachments that moves


the most

cross section of a skeleton muscle and


its attachment to the bone

Nerve Fibers
Motor fibers

2 Types:
alpha fibers- derived from large cells in
the anterior gray horn
gamma fibers- derived from smaller
cells in the spinal cord

Sensory fibers

myelinated and arise from


specialized sensory endings lying
within the muscle or tendons called
muscle spindles or tendon spindles.

Sympathetic fibers

nonmyelinated and pass to the


smooth muscle in the walls of the
blood vessels supplying the
muscle.
