Stud Prefix Registration

Please nominate three choices. If your first choice is not acceptable, it will be deferred to your second choice
and so on. A prefix may be rejected if it is too similar to another registered prefix.
There is a one time fee for registering your stud prefix of $10.00.

Registration of a prefix by The Australasian Coloured Heavy Horse Registry protects it from being used by others when registering horses with the
AGHS. It does not protect the name beyond the Australasian Coloured Heavy Horse Registry use. Such prefixes are to be restricted to and required
of every foal recorded to that breeder. Breeders may have only one active prefix, only the owner of the prefix can use it. Breeders must be ACHHR
members to register a prefix and use it to register horses with the ACHHR. The breeder is considered to be the person who owns the dam at the
birth of the foal. Animals sold in-utero must use the prefix of the owner of the dam unless imported in-utero. Only animals bred by the owner of the
prefix may bear the prefix name/s. The owner of a prefix may extend the use of the prefix to members of his/her immediate family or by special
permission. In instances of herd or dispersal sales where all or a large part of a herd is sold to one purchaser, the herd prefix may be transferred to
the new owner(s) upon written permission of the breeder and approval of the Committee. Owners right to prefix shall be lost by 20 consecutive
years of non-use
