South East Neighbourhood Centres

Child Care Guidelines for Parents
The South East Neighbourhood Centre often provides child care for parents attending groups at the Centre.
This service usually costs $10 per child per session of.
If we do not have 24 hours notice that you will not be attending the session you have confirmed for, We will
have to still charge the $10 child care fee to pay for the childcare workers we have enlisted for the day.
Due to the increase of food allergies in children
ALL OUR PROGRAMS ARE NUT FREE
If your child is unwell ( contagious ) please leave them at home and we will book you in for the next
available session.
Whilst The South East Neighbourhood Centres childrens Services staff are qualified to perform this
function, the Centre is not set up as a funded childminding centre, with the provision of nappies, food and
spare clothes for children.
As such, it would be greatly appreciated if parents could be mindful of this and provide the following items
when using the childminding service;
Spare nappies for their children requiring them
Baby wipes if required
Nappy changing powder or cream if required
Spare clothes in case of soiling
Adequate food and drink as may be required
A pram/stroller if their child requires a sleep
Childs comforter/dummy or special toy
Parents should also ensure that they present their child for minding with a clean nappy and advise staff if
their child has special needs that may need to be addressed during the period of childminding.
Our procedure for nappy change is to come and get you if your childs nappy needs changing.
Our procedure for when a child is upset during childminding:
We do our best to settle them and if we feel they are becoming distressed and cannot be consoled for a
prolonged period, we will come and get you to settle your child.
Our concerns are in the best interests of the child, whilst allowing the parents the benefit of our services.
We trust that parents will be understanding of this and cooperative in respecting these guidelines.
