Course Description:

Literature 102 is a 3-unit course which traces the development of Philippine Literature from ancient to contemporary period. It includes the study of literary
devices and techniques used in representative literary types specifically, short stories, poem, essays and plays.
IV.

Rationale:

Philippine Literature, like the literature of other nations, conserves the heritage which gives meaning to the ideals, emotions, feelings, and culture of the Filipino
people. Through the study of Philippine Literature, the students mind is molded by learning and preserving the experience of the past in a cohesive and
beautiful manner.
V.
General Objective:
At the end of the course, the student is expected to have instilled pride in ones literary heritage, cultural identity and values reflected in the literary selections
under study.
Specific Objectives:
A. Cognitive:
Recognize the contributions of Filipinos in the development of Philippine literature from the ancient to contemporary times.
B. Affective:
Appreciate desirable Filipino character traits and attitudes that are embedded in literary selections.
C. Psychomotor:
Participate in a dramatic presentation.
