Modern day attitude towards Trade Unions

Trade unions have been thought to be the movement to uphold the rights of the
employees and protect them from exploitation. Trade unions activities were vibrant in
the last century. The nation has seen series of labour strikes and labour unrests. In
recent days there is an obvious change in the vitality of the trade unions. The
perception towards trade union is also moderated by the todays political, social
technological changes. A study conducted among the employees on their attitude
towards trade unions is presented in the data set. It contains data on 123 adults. There
18 variables of which eight are demographic in nature concerning gender, age, and
items relating to employment status and political preference. The remaining 10 items
are a short five point Likert attitude scale towards trade unions.
The main objective of the study is to investigate the relationships between the
demographic and scale items. Frame relevant objectives and hypotheses for the study.
Analyse the data and present a description, reliability and inferences about the data.
