Today: wild horses and burros exist on just 2.1 million acres.
Net loss: 1.8 million acres.

o 1,786 wild horses and 170 burros allowed to graze on 2.1 million acres (Source: BLM)
o 100,113 cow/calf pairs (annual equivalent) allowed to graze on 22 million acres of BLM
land in Utah. (Source: BLM)
o 1.2 million Animal Unit Months (AUMs) forage for livestock vs. 23,472 AUMs for wild horses
allocated statewide.
