Considerations For Teaching ELLs

Teaching ELLs is a team effort, and the ESL Specialist should be available to
collaborate with the classroom teacher. ELLs may experience culture shock, and
the process for becoming comfortable in a new culture can be long. They may
need help integrating and will need more frequent check-ins than many other
students. Dont assume that students are fine, just because they dont ask for
help. There are a number of things for teachers to consider when planning for
ELLs. These include:
