ACTIVITY N 02: WRITIING


Think about a retired person you know and write a summary
of his/her life using the verb phrases in the box.
John Wilden Hughes, was born in Lansing, Chicago, in 1950. Although he moved in the
world of advertising, he liked the comic ideas, and made his first film would work for his
humorous ideas for the screenplay of The Vacation Lampoon (1983). And although he
directed eight films, what he liked was conceived ideas and writing scripts, which
plamaba paper at full speed, which is why he signed many movie scripts, produced by
him, although he was not the director. Of these the most celebrated are the first two
installments of the series Home Alone, which served for the discovery of Macaulay
Culkin, that lovely child of a large family, which was forgotten at home and had to face
a bumbling burglars. In that line was another success funny Baby's Day march (1994),
which was shaped like a story. In his role as writer gave many familiar titles, based on
comics (Dennis the Menace), disneyanos characters (Flubber, 101 Dalmatians (Livin)),
and classic Christmas (Miracle in the city).
In 1994, Hughes retired from the public eye and moved back to the Chicago area.
Hughes was considerably shaken by John Candy's sudden death of a heart attack that
same year.
Hugues leaves a wife, Nancy, 39, two sons and four grandchildren.
