IT TAKES

We use it takes to express a period of time necessary to complete some action. It


takes is always followed by an infinitive.
It takes me an hour to prepare my homework.
It took us five days to reach home.
It will take you several hours to finish that work.
Change each of the sentences below so that it begins with It takes ......., It
took ......., or It will take .........., as required.
1. I walked to the station in ten minutes.
(It took ten minutes to walk to the station.)
