Get Chartered knowledge and understanding

Guidance sheet technical report


Word count:
Up to a maximum of 5,000 words.

Objective:
To demonstrate a depth of theoretical and practical knowledge of chemical engineering and its underlying
principles.
Your technical report should demonstrate that your chemical engineering knowledge and understanding is of a
high standard, showing how you make effective use of chemical engineering science and principles in creating
designs and solving problems. This should be done through an ordered and critical description of aspects of
chemical engineering practice where you have made a significant contribution.
You may submit as your technical report one of the following:
1.

a report written specifically for the application;

2.

a pre-existing technical report, annotated or accompanied by a narrative;

3.

a collection of published academic papers along a common theme annotated or accompanied by a narrative;

4.

a summary of a technical project or academic paper(s).

Structure:
Please complete the document Cover sheet: technical report or academic papers to assist assessment, and
where possible use as an aid in structuring your report.
