Bellflower Summer Scarf


This scarf makes a lovely soft and light wrap to throw over your shoulders in the summer.
It is designed with the Bellflower lace pattern to enhance the beauty of our new gradient yarn.
Materials:
1 set of Meritime or Woolpaca Gradients by
Osborn Fiber Studio (Heavy Worsted
Weight, 549 yards per set; shown in Nectar)
US8/5mm needle
2 stitch markers
Finished Size: 12 x 78
Gauge: Approx. 20 stitches and 26 rows in a 4 x 4
square
Directions
Arrange the 5 colors of gradient yarns from darkest to lightest or in whatever arrangement appeals
to you.
Cast on 51 stitches.
Knit 2 rows of garter stitch (knit every row.)
Follow 16 rows of lace chart pattern 27 times. It helps to place a stitch marker after stitches 17 and 34.
AT THE SAME TIME, change colors following the color sequence below.
Knit 2 rows of garter stitch.
Cast off and weave in ends.
Color Sequence:
Begin to change from 1st color to 2nd color after 76 rows (4 repeats plus 12 rows.)
Next, execute color change in a 4,2,2,4 sequence. In other words: with new color knit 4 rows,
with previous color knit 2 rows, with new color knit 2 rows, and finally with previous color knit 4 rows.
Then continue another 76 rows with new color.
Execute the color change in the same sequence until you are on the last color.
Continue with the last color until 27 repeats of the chart are completed
