This document discusses fundraising for a high school music program. It explains that the program receives basic funding for materials, but additional expenses like trips require supplemental funds. Students are expected to purchase their own uniforms. The program encourages families to contribute their "fair share" through fundraising to help offset extra costs and enhance the musical experience for students. It describes an existing music club and the potential to start a booster organization to raise more funds through activities and donations from family and friends. Contributions will help pay for expenses like music, transportation, uniforms and equipment that benefit the entire program.

We are allocated a certain amount of funds to provide our students with materials necessary for music education. That being said, anything above and beyond is up to us. Remember, we will have performances at school, but extra trips cost extra money. It is common for high school music programs to plan extra events that will make your childs high school music experience even better. Your Choir and Orchestra is what you make it J. Please consider what is your fair share in supplementing your childs education. Students are expected to purchase their own uniform as described in the course description during registration. If we do have to supplement the purchase of uniforms, there will be less to go around for other purposes. No student will be excluded because of the familys inability to pay unless an event is optional. We only ask that you work to fundraise as much as you can, still keeping in the spirit of contributing your FAIR SHARE. We currently have a Choir and Orchestra Club Vocals and Violins that runs as an ASB organization. All student purchases and on-campus events, including fundraisers, run through ASB. The club meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays during A Lunch, and everyone is invited to attend. We also have the opportunity to raise funds through a Booster Organization, if you are interested. This can be family and friends that would like to support our music students. Among many helpful things that a booster organization can do is host fundraisers such as car washes, provide or sell food to students at special events, and raise money for our possible fall or spring trips. The more money is raised through an active adult group, the less money each participating student family will need to contribute. Booster Clubs are allowed to work in a different way than fundraising through ASB, but both are great ways to help our students. Possible extra expenses that can be offset by fundraising are: Music, Transportation, Piano Accompanist, Awards, Uniforms, Equipment, and extra competition trip expenses. Please remember, your Choir and Orchestra is what YOU make it! It is IMPERATIVE that all families commit to contributing their fair share. Its not about money, but taking care of our students and our program.
