1. Introduction
1.1 Back ground
The Headquarter of Mesfin Industrial Engineering (MIE) Plc. is found at Mekelle in Tigray region of
Northern Ethiopia, at a distance of 788 Kilometers from the Ethiopian capital (Addis Ababa).
MIE was established in 1993 as engineering wing of EFFORT (Endowment Fund for the Rehabilitation of
Tigray) Group and started its operation with manufacturing of metal windows, doors and maintenance of
vehicles etc. with USD 358 thousand initial capital.
Currently, MIE stands at more than USD 25million capital and transformed to Big Manufacturing and
Engineering Company and structured itself with four Main business units as follows.

Industrial Equipment Manufacturing Business unit

II.

Heavy duty Vehicle and locomotive Business unit

III.

Industrial Installation and construction Business unit.

IV.

Automotive and agricultural machinery Business unit
